NOAA Teacher at Sea

Apply to be a NOAA Teacher at Sea! NOAA's Teacher at Sea Program provides pre-K through college-level teachers a hands-on, real-world research experience working at sea with world-renowned NOAA scientists. This opportunity gives educators a unique insight into oceanic and atmospheric research crucial to the nation. Applications for 2019 will be accepted online between November 1st and November 30. NOAA Planet Stewards Education Project

Would you like to learn how to write a Federal funding proposal with a group of your peers and receive up to $2,500.00 to carry out an environmental stewardship project? Then you should join NOAA’s Planet Stewards 2019 Stewardship Community! All formal and informal educators working with kindergarten through college-age students are welcome to apply. NSTA STEM Virtual Conference Dec 1 online, 7-11am PST Grade K-12 Educators: Join NSTA to learn how you can help your students to embrace STEM. Erosion Control with Native Plants Dec 6 Newport For All: Are you or your students are interested in learning how to maintain the integrity of slopes, hills, stream banks, and protect against wind at your school or home? This free workshop from the Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District precedes the annual Native Plant Sale.

Oregon Coast Science Project Kickoff Oregon Coast STEM Hub logo Dec 15 Newport K-12 formal and informal educators from the Oregon Coast STEM Hub: Join our teacher collaborative as we delve into the NGSS and expand 3-dimensional learning on the coast. Climate Workshop - Teachers on the Estuary Feb 15-17 Charleston Formal and informal educators: In this multi-day training at South Slough Reserve, teachers will investigate the phenomenon of ocean acidification to explore causes and effects of changing climate on estuaries and oceans.
