Overview
Partnering with The Oregon Science Project, the Oregon Coast STEM Hub is sponsoring a Hybrid Learning Facilitator Institute for coastal teachers. Cristina Trecha, founder of the Oregon Science Project and Facilitator of the Rural STEAM Leadership Network will work with teachers to design professional development opportunities for fellow educators in their communities. Teachers will be split into two cohorts for the 2 in-person workshops and gather together for the 6 virtual sessions.
Who: K-12 educators in Clatsop, Tillamook, Lincoln, Coos, Curry and coastal regions of Lane and Douglas Counties
What: Hybrid professional development for coastal teachers. Teachers will be placed into a cohort based upon region (north/central coast and south coast) for in person components. Virtual workshops will be jointly hosted for both groups.

Why: Provide educators with the knowledge to create STEM related professional development in their region. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their new skills and gain feedback from fellow educators.
Additional Details: $1,100 stipend for 6 virtual sessions and 2 in person workshops. Lodging assistance provided to teachers traveling over 90 miles to in-person workshops. This workshop will be offered again in summer/fall 2025, stay tuned for details.
