On Saturday, May 10, 2014, twenty-two teams of students gathered at the Lincoln City Community Center to participate in the 3rd annual Oregon Regional Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Competition.  Teams launched their robots to compete for top honors in the region and the opportunity to advance to the 13th annual MATE International ROV Competition.
 
The 2014 first place winners for the ROV classes were: Moon Industries (Scout Class), Abyss Bound (Navigator Class), and Typhoon Industries (Ranger Class). Typhoon Industries will be advancing on to the MATE ROV International Competition which will be held at the end of June in Michigan along with the Clatsop Community College and Linn-Benton Community College teams who also successfully qualified. Thanks to all the volunteers, mentors, and sponsors who made the event possible!
