Who: K-5 Educators in any subject area.
What: Data is everywhere! Join teachers from across the state to explore ways to provide all students access to using creative and emotionally responsive strategies. Data can be used to tell stories, reveal misconceptions, and broaden perspectives. The big ideas within the data reasoning standards are asking investigative questions, collecting data to answer investigative questions, organizing data for analysis, representing data for communication, and analyzing data. This professional development will deepen our understanding of data analysis techniques for contextual situations, explore how we can use the Ambitious Math Teaching strategies to provide access and challenge to a diverse group of students, and look for and express regularity, patterns and structure through analysis, critique and debate of student work. This workshop is brought to you by the Oregon Coast STEM Hub and Lane STEM Hub. It is funded by the Oregon Math Project grant from Oregon Department of Education.
