This spring, the Oregon Coast STEM Hub has a limited amount of funds available to help educators purchase materials that will be used to engage learners in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) in our Oregon Coast region.
Apply online at http://tinyurl.com/MayMiniGrant by Friday, April 28, 2017. The Oregon Coast STEM Hub will select between ten and twenty educators to receive funding up to $500 and will notify applicants during STEM Week by May 5, 2017. Successful applications will be selected based on the number and demographics of the learners served, the geographic location of where materials will be used, the specificity of the materials requested, and the quality of the other application responses.
Educators approved for funding will need to purchase STEM materials in May and submit all receipts for reimbursement no later than June 1, 2017.
These funds can support requests of up to $500 for MATERIALS or SUPPLIES that support STEM experiences. Applicants must be part of the Oregon Coast STEM Hub. They may be informal or formal educators, and materials may be used in in-school or out-of-school environments in the Oregon Coast STEM Hub region.
The funds may NOT be used for: student bus transportation, substitute reimbursement, mileage reimbursement, entry fees, textbooks, computer equipment, food, hazardous equipment, or non-STEM related purchases.
Please do not proceed with purchase of requested materials until you have received approval from the Oregon Coast STEM Hub! Upon approval, applicants will be authorized to make purchases through their school/organization, and then have that school/organization submit itemized receipts for reimbursement from the Oregon Coast STEM Hub no later than June 1, 2017. The reimbursement process typically takes no more than two weeks.
